 Impact Steel Ball

IEC62368 Diameter 50±1MM 500G±25G impact steel ball,Mechanical strength tester
T.6 Shell impact test

The sample is taken with the intact casing or part representing its maximum unreinforced area and supported in its normal position. A smooth solid steel ball with a diameter of 50mm soil lmm and a mass of 500g25g was used for the following tests:
For the horizontal surface, the steel ball falls freely from the rest from a vertical distance of 1300mm10mm to the sample (see Figure T1). For the vertical surface, the steel ball is suspended by a string and swung like a pendulum from a vertical distance of 1300mm10mm
Fall onto the sample and apply horizontal impact (see Figure T1). The above tests are performed when evaluating components used only as fire protection housing, but horizontal impact tests at a vertical distance of 410mm x 10mm can be simulated on a vertical or inclined surface, with the sample installed at 90° from its normal position, and then vertical impact tests are performed instead of pendulum tests.
T.9 Impact test
After the whole area of the test sample is supported, it shall withstand a shock specified in T.1. If the sample is made of glass, the impact should be applied at a location representing the center of the glass.
The specified impact shall be applied by a smooth solid steel ball with a diameter of 50mmlmm and a mass of 500g25g. As shown in Figure T1, falling freely from rest, never less than the vertical distance specified in Table T.1, strikes the sample with the specified impact energy in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample.

In order to exert the required impact, the height is calculated by H-E/(gxm), where:
H – Vertical distance, unit is meter, tolerance is 10mm:
E – Impact energy, expressed in joules:
g – Gravity acceleration, 9.81m/s’ :
M – Mass of steel ball, in kilograms.
