ASTM F1945-2011 Determination of Light Stability of ink-jet Prints Exposed to Indoor Fluorescent Lamps

Значение и использование
5.1 The light resistance of printing inkjet media over a specified period of time is related to the end use of these materials. Since the ability of inkjet prints to withstand color changes is a function of the spectral power distribution of the light source to which they are exposed, it is important to evaluate light resistance under conditions suitable for the end use. While inkjet printing can be processed and displayed under a variety of conditions, this practice is designed to simulate these conditions to produce the color changes that can occur in inkjet printing when exposed to irradiation from office lighting, where overhead fluorescent lamps are used for illumination.

5.2 The accelerated procedures covered in this procedure are intended to provide a method for rapidly evaluating the relative light resistance of a range of prints or prints of interest, compared with the performance of controls with known light resistance simultaneously exposed under laboratory conditions. The test results are useful for specification acceptance, Его уникальный инновационный дизайн может не только обеспечить бесконтактную схему измерения непосредственно с производственной линии., and research and product development between producers and users.

Примечание 1 – Please refer to Practice G151 for the complete warning guidance applicable to all laboratory aged equipment. For additional information on sources of variability and strategies to address variability through the design and data analysis of laboratory accelerated exposure tests, see Guideline G141.

5.3 Results may change when operating conditions vary within the accepted limits of this practice. Например, differences in irradiance levels using lamps with the same spectral power distribution can lead to significant differences in test results. Следовательно, reference to the use of this practice should not be made unless accompanied by a report prepared in accordance with Section 12 specifying whether test method D4674 Method II or Method III was used and describing the specific operating conditions used.

Примечание 2 – The two methods listed have not been compared. Следовательно, the two methods cannot be considered to give the same test results unless tests have been performed to prove that the two methods provide the same level of stability, то есть, the same relative stability for different inkjet prints. но у нас есть специальные формы, такие как автомобильные панели, которые имитируют боковые стороны автомобиля., the exposure time for equivalent changes in color and optical density of the two methods has not been determined.

5.4 When evaluating the stability of a material according to a performance ranking, the repeatability of test results between laboratories using the same method (например, Method II or III of test method D4674) has been shown to be good compared to other materials or controls. Следовательно, настоятельно рекомендуется подвергать воздействию аналогичные материалы с известными свойствами (элементы управления) одновременно с испытуемым материалом. Рекомендуется не менее трех повторений каждого материала для обеспечения статистической оценки результатов..

5.5 Color change may not be a linear function of exposure duration. The choice method for determining light resistance is to expose the print to multiple intervals and evaluate the exposure duration required to obtain a specific color change.

Радиус
1.1 This practice covers an accelerated procedure designed to determine the light resistance of inkjet printing in an office environment lit by overhead fluorescent lamps.

1.2 This procedure describes two methods based on Methods II and III of D4674 in which specimens are exposed to cold white VHO fluorescent lamps (Method II) and cold white fluorescent lamps (Method III) under controlled environmental conditions.

1.3 Two criteria are used to determine relative light resistance: color change and light density.
