This machine has a standardized test method to check corrosion resistence of coated samples. Uji semprot garam adalah uji korosi yang dipercepat yang menghasilkan serangan korosif pada sampel yang dilapisi untuk memprediksi kesesuaiannya digunakan sebagai lapisan pelindung.. Munculnya produk korosi (oksida) dievaluasi setelah periode waktu tertentu. Durasi pengujian tergantung pada ketahanan korosi lapisan; semakin tahan korosi lapisan tersebut, semakin lama periode dalam pengujian tanpa menunjukkan tanda-tanda korosi. Different coatings have different behaviour in salt spray test and consequently, test duration will differ from one type of coating to another.
