Application of color difference meter in color difference detection of traffic coatings and its measuring steps

Traffic paint color difference refers to the degree of color change under different lighting conditions.Traffic paint is usually used in outdoor environment, affected by sunlight, rain and other natural environment, easy to change color.Traffic paint color changes will affect the readability and recognition of road traffic signs, so the traffic paint color difference requirements are very strict.Typically, traffic paint chromatic aberration tests are performed under standard light sources, such as using a D65 light source to assess the stability of traffic paint colors by measuring the color difference between a sample and a standard color palette. The color difference test of traffic paint is one of the important links to ensure the road traffic safety.

Application of color difference meter in color difference detection of traffic coatings and its measuring steps

Color difference meter is a very common tool in color difference detection of traffic coatings. The following is the application and measurement steps of color difference meter in traffic paint color difference detection:

1. Sample preparation: Apply the coating to be measured on the sample plate and smooth it with a scraper. Then let the paint dry.

2. Turn on the color difference meter: Press the power button to turn on the color difference meter, and wait a few minutes for it to warm up.

3. Calibration: Put the color difference meter on the white standard board, press the calibration button, and wait for the completion of calibration.

4. Measurement: Put the sample plate on the measuring platform of the color difference instrument, align the measuring head of the instrument with the coating on the sample plate, and press the measuring button for measurement.

5. Record the results: the measurement results are recorded and compared with the standard color palette or standard value to determine whether the color quality of the paint meets the requirements.

It should be noted that during the measurement process, external factors such as light, temperature and humidity should be avoided as far as possible. In addition, before the color difference detection, it should be ensured that the color of the paint sample has been stable, that is, the paint has been fully dried.
